Many people underestimate how important is extractor cleaning to minimize the amount of microscopic grease particles settling onto your kitchen surfaces. You extractor fan could also become noisier and less efficient if it’s blocked with dirt and grease. It is recommended to clean your extractor at least every 3 months.

Charcoal filters need to be changed every 4 – 6 months, depending on how often you cook and use extractor fan. Do not clean charcoal filters in dishwasher or hot water as this will reduce their efficiency.

Paper filter:
Paper filters are disposable and easily replaceable. Paper filter should be changed once it’s discoloured or every month.
Metal filter:
Metal filters can be washed in a hot soapy water or dishwasher. Don’t worry if the filter discoloures slightly, it will still work.
Sponge filter:
Sponge filters can be washed in warm soapy water; you need to replace them after 5 – 6 washes.
Carbon filter:
Do not wash carbon filters, replace them every 6 months.
